Survey process

A survey letter will be sent to members who satisfy the party membership assessment.

The survey letter will request members to indicate if they are a member of the party. If a member is already an existing member of another registered party, they must indicate which party can rely on their membership for registration.

The members may reply by email, fax or return the reply-paid envelope within four weeks of the date of the survey letter.

If, as a result of the survey it is determined that the party has fewer than the required minimum number of members for registration, the NSW Electoral Commissioner may refuse to register the party. At which point, the secretary of the party may lodge an amended application within 30 days of this decision.

If the party has enough members, the registration process will proceed to the next stage.
