Pre-poll voting for City of Griffith by-election now open

Pre-poll voting for the upcoming City of Griffith Local government by-election is now open ahead of the Griffith by-election on 16 February 2019.
 
The by-election is being held to elect one councillor and it is compulsory for enrolled electors to vote.
 
NSW Electoral Commissioner John Schmidt encouraged eligible voters who were unable to vote in person on election day to cast a pre-poll vote.

The criteria for voting in person at a pre-poll venue includes:

  • being outside the City of Griffith council area on election day

  • travelling and being unable to attend a polling place on election day

  • approaching maternity

  • working on election day

  • being a person with a disability.

Further eligibility criteria is available at elections.nsw.gov.au.

Pre-poll voting opens on Monday, 4 February 2019 and closes at 6pm on Friday, 15 February 2019.
 
Pre-poll locations and opening times are:

Griffith returning officer’s office - 81 Kooyoo Street, GRIFFITH
Monday to Friday: 8.15am – 4pm
Friday,15 February 2019: 8.15am - 6pm
Closed on weekends

Griffith Aboriginal Medical Centre
38-42 Jondaryan Avenue, GRIFFITH
Friday, 15 February 2019: 8am - 6pm
