Nominations close: Kempsey, Shellharbour Ward A and Singleton council elections

Candidates planning to nominate for the Kempsey Shire Council, Shellharbour City Council - Ward A and Singleton Council elections have until midday on Wednesday, 29 June to submit their nomination.

NSW Electoral Commissioner, John Schmidt said nominations should be lodged as soon as possible.

“Prospective candidates can find information about election processes and their obligations by following the 'Six steps to being a candidate' available on our website.

“Incomplete nominations or nominations received after 12 midday on Wednesday, 29 June cannot be accepted. Any corrections or additions to a nomination must also be completed by this time.”

Nomination deposits must also be received by the Returning Officer no later than 12 midday on Wednesday, 29 June.

Nomination forms are available at elections.nsw.gov.au or by calling the NSW Electoral Commission’s candidate helpdesk on 1300 022 011.

Ballot paper draw

The ballot paper draw to determine the order of candidates’ names on the ballot paper will be held at the office of each Returning Officer at 10am, Thursday 30 June 2022.

The addresses of the Returning Officer’s offices are:

  • Singleton RO Office: 13 Campbell St, Singleton NSW 2330
  • Kempsey Shire RO Office: Unit 2, 80-82 Smith Street, Kempsey NSW 2440
  • Shellharbour RO Office: 108A Tongarra Road, Access via Halket Lane, Albion Park NSW 2527

Media, candidates and members of the public are invited to attend the ballot paper draw.
