'Unsound mind' change to electoral legislation

Some aspects of the law have changed for the way elections are run in New South Wales. The Electoral Act 2017, which replaced the Parliamentary Electorates and Elections Act 1912, introduced a number of changes.

One of the legislative changes reinforces the importance of the right to vote. People who were previously excluded from enrolling to vote in New South Wales on the grounds of being of 'unsound mind' now have the right to vote.
