Inner West Council
Inner West Council started as the Municipality of Marrickville on 1 November 1861 and evolved over the years to include Leichhardt, Stanmore, Balmain and Ashfield. It holds 135,071^ electors and occupies an area of 35 square kilometres. This council is divided into five wards and is served by 15 councillors including a Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
