Bayside Council

Bayside Council started as the Rockdale Municipality on 13 January 1871 and evolved over the years to include Botany. It holds 106,911^ electors and occupies an area of 50 square kilometres. This council is divided into five wards and is served by 15 councillors including a Mayor and Deputy Mayor.

In 2016 Bayside Council was formed from the merger of the City of Botany Bay and the City of Rockdale. The population statistic for Bayside Council represents the aggregate population statistics of these former councils as at 2016.
