Election notice No.2: Invitation to nominate
2024 NSW Aboriginal Land Council elections
Nominations are invited for the elections to be held for the nine Councillors of the NSW Aboriginal Land Council (NSWALC). One member will be elected to represent each NSWALC Region:
- Central
- Northern
- Sydney and Newcastle
- Mid North Coast
- North Western
- Western
- North Coast
- South Coast
- Wiradjuri.
How to nominate
Nominations must be lodged by the close of nominations at 12 noon Tuesday, 30 January 2024.
Nominations, changes to nomination forms, or withdrawals of nominations will not be accepted after the close of the nominations. It is the responsibility of candidates to ensure that their nomination is complete before lodgement.

A complete nomination must include:
- ALC.201 - Candidate nomination form
- ALC.201A - Statutory declaration – Grounds for disqualification from office
- Nomination deposit of $50.00 (ALC.201B Nomination deposit return form should also be lodged).
The nomination deposit must be in the form of cash, bank cheque, credit union or building society cheque made out to the NSW Electoral Commission. The deposit can also be paid at any Westpac Branch by cash, bank cheque, credit union or building society cheque made out to the NSW Electoral Commission (personal cheques are not accepted). Following the close of nominations, if more than one nomination is received for a Region, a draw to determine order of candidates’ names on the ballot paper for the Region will be conducted at 2pm Wednesday, 31 January 2024 at the NSW Electoral Commission office on Level 13, 231 Elizabeth Street, Sydney. Candidates or their representatives are welcome to attend.
Election day
Election day is Saturday, 24 February 2024.
