Upper Hunter by-election: Candidates to be announced

Candidates who have nominated for the Upper Hunter State by-election on Saturday, 22 May will be announced this coming Friday, 7 May by the NSW Electoral Commission. 

A ballot paper draw will be held to determine the position of candidate names on the ballot paper at 9am. This will take place at the Election Manager’s office at 31 John Street, Singleton.

The ballot paper draw is open to the media, candidates and the public, subject to following COVID-19 safety measures. Attendees will be asked to register their attendance via QR code and comply with physical distancing requirements, in line with current public health guidance. Attendees may also be asked to wear a mask if numbers require.

Nominations are confidential until the conduct of the ballot paper draw, after which time candidate details will be published in ballot paper order on the Commission’s website.
