Postal voting
Voters may apply directly to be enrolled or to receive election reminders through the NSW Electoral Commission website.
You can apply to vote by post at a single election, or apply to register as a general postal voter for every election.
Please note: voters only need to share their personal information with the NSW Electoral Commission or the Australian Electoral Commission in order to access these services.
We have no relationship with other websites that offer to assist voters to enrol to vote or apply for a postal vote or to receive reminders. We do not control what other organisations do with any personal information they may collect from voters using these other websites.

Deadlines for postal votes
We recommend you submit your postal vote application as early as possible to ensure that you receive your voting material before election day.
State elections:
We must receive your postal vote application by 6pm on the Monday before election day.
To be counted, your postal vote must be received by the NSWEC by 6pm on the 12th day after election day.
Local government elections or by-elections:
We must receive your postal vote application by 5pm on the Monday before election day.
To be counted, your completed ballot papers and postal vote certificate must be received by the NSW Electoral Commission no later than 6pm, on the 13th day after election day.
Postal voting eligibility
If your circumstances make it difficult for you to go to a voting centre on election day, you may be eligible to apply for a postal vote.
General postal voters
General postal voters automatically receive ballot papers in the mail for federal, state and local government elections. The Australian Electoral Commission keeps a register of general poster voters for every state and territory.
