NSW Electoral Commission decisions

If the NSW Electoral Commission makes any of the following decisions, it must give notice to the lobbyist and reasons for the decision:

  • a decision to refuse to register a third-party lobbyist

  • a decision to cancel or suspend the registration of a third-party lobbyist

  • the determination by the NSW Electoral Commission to not register a third-party lobbyist for a specified period of time because the third-party lobbyist has carried out on the business of lobbying while unregistered

  • a decision to place the name of a third-party or other lobbyist on the watchlist.

The NSW Electoral Commission is required to publish notice of, and the reasons for, a decision unless satisfied that there is an overriding public interest against the disclosure of the information (within the meaning of the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009).
