Voting

Election day is always the fourth Saturday in March in the year of a State election.

Voting is the process by which you choose the candidates you wish to represent you in parliament.

When you vote for the Legislative Assembly you are voting to choose your local member whose function is to represent your interests and those of other constituents of the electorate in parliament.

When you vote for the Legislative Council you are voting to choose 21 members to join the other 21 sitting members in the Legislative Council, who represent the whole of New South Wales.
