Political Donations

People, bodies and organisations who make donations, give gifts or provide services to parties, elected members, candidates and groups of candidates for election campaign purposes are known as political donors.

Political donors may have to disclose the details of their donations to the Election Funding Authority. Likewise political donors can incur electoral expenditure which may also have to be disclosed.

When a political donor's donations total more than $1,000 during an election period, the donor is required to disclose the details to the Election Funding Authority.

The Election Funding Authority provides information to assist people or organisations understand their disclosure obligations and access the necessary forms.
