Boundary Description

Commencing at the intersection of Williams River and the generally southern boundary of Dungog Shire; and bounded thence by that boundary generally north-easterly and generally south-easterly, part of the generally eastern boundary of that shire northerly and the generally southern boundary of Great Lakes Council generally easterly to the low water mark of the shore of South Pacific Ocean at Yacaaba Head; by a line south-westerly to the low water mark of the shore of South Pacific Ocean at Tomeree Head; by that low water mark (except at the entrance of any river, creek or inlet of the sea where the boundary shall be a straight line connecting two points on the shore opposite the outermost headlands at the entrance of any such river, creek or inlet of the sea) generally south-westerly to the south-eastern prolongation of Mats Track; by that prolongation and track generally north-westerly, Lavis Lane generally westerly and Nelson Bay Road southerly to the Fourteen Foot Drain; by that drain generally south-westerly to the eastern shore of Fullerton Cove; by that shore generally south-westerly to the left bank of North Channel of Hunter River; by that bank downwards to Stockton Bridge; by that bridge westerly to the right bank of North Channel of Hunter River; by that bank downwards and the left bank of South Channel of Hunter River upwards to Troule Street; by that street southerly and Industrial Drive generally south-easterly to the branch railway line to the Port Waratah Coal Loading Facility; by that railway generally south-westerly and Main Northern Railway generally north-westerly to a canal from Hexham Swamp to Purgatory Creek; by that canal and Purgatory Creek downwards to the right bank of Hunter River; by a line north-easterly to the left bank of Hunter River; by that bank and Williams River upwards to the point of commencement (inclusive of all islands lying off the coast of the district above defined).
