Boundary Description
Commencing at the junction of Lavis Lane with Nelson Bay Road: and bounded thence by that lane easterly and Mats Track and its prolongation generally south-easterly to the low water mark of the shore of South Pacific Ocean; by that low water mark (except at the entrance of any river, creek or inlet of the sea where the boundary shall be a straight line connecting two points on the shore opposite the outermost headlands at the entrance of any such river, creek or inlet of the sea) generally south-westerly to the generally southern boundary of the City of Newcastle; by part of that boundary generally north-westerly to the generally eastern boundary of Portion 177, Parish of Newcastle, County of Northumberland; by part of that boundary generally northerly to Pacific Highway; by that highway generally south-westerly, Brunker Road generally northerly, Glebe Road westerly, St James Road north-westerly, Royal Street northerly, Russell Road westerly, Royal Place northerly, Lambton Road and Howe Street generally north-westerly, Morehead Street, its prolongation and Acacia Avenue northerly and Alnwick Road generally westerly to the south-eastern prolongation of the north-eastern boundary of Lot 84, DP 22290; by that prolongation and boundary, the generally eastern boundary of Lot 1, DP 565785, the generally north-eastern boundary of Lot 2, DP 565785 and a line generally north-westerly to University Drive; by that drive generally westerly, the Freeway (being part of State Route 123) generally northerly and Sandgate Road generally north-easterly to Main Northern Railway; by that railway generally south-easterly and the branch railway line to the Port Waratah Coal Loading Facility north-easterly to Industrial Drive; by that drive generally north-westerly, Tourle Street northerly, to the left bank of South Channel of Hunter River; by that bank downwards and the right bank of North Channel of Hunter River upwards to Stockton Bridge; by that bridge easterly to the left bank of the North Channel of Hunter River; by that bank upwards and the generally south-eastern shore of Fullerton Cove generally north-easterly to The Fourteen Foot Drain; by that drain upwards to Nelson Bay Road, aforesaid, and by that road northerly to the point of commencement (inclusive of all islands lying off the coast of the district above defined).
