Voting for Cabonne Councillors

Polling booths will open between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm on Saturday, 13 September. Below is a list of the polling booths where electors in the Cabonne Shire Council can cast their vote:

Molong will be the Principal Polling Place for Cabonne Shire and will have ballot papers for all wards plus a referendum question.
Orange High School will also have ballot papers for all Cabonne wards & the referendum.
Yuranigh Wardis an uncontested election which means the two candidates nominated are taken as being elected to the Cabonne Shire Council, effective from 13 September 2008.
Yuranigh residents are still required to vote in the referendum which is compulsory for all wards.

Do you favour Cabonne Council abolishing wards where all electors would vote for all councillors?
Question 2
Do you favour reducing councillor numbers from twelve to nine?
Pre-Poll Voting
Electors can only cast a pre-poll vote in the council area where they are enrolled.
A Pre Poll centre is located at the Molong Shire Council in Bank Street, Molong.
Pre poll begins on 1 September and will continue until 12 September. Hours are the same as council opening hours (9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday). On Friday 12 all pre poll centres will remain open to 6.00pm.
Postal Voting
People who are unable to vote on Election Day or Pre-Poll at Molong can apply for a postal vote.
Applications for postal voting can be obtained from the Returning Office in Orange, the NSW Electoral Commission’s website (www.elections.nsw.gov.au) or Cabonne Shire council.
Postal vote application forms can be posted to: Returning Office, PO Box 813, Orange 2800 or faxed to 02 6360 3691.
Postal vote applications close at 5.00pm on Monday 8 September 2008 and must be ballot papers must reach the Returning Officer by 6.00pm on Monday, 15 September to be included in the count.
There is no absentee voting for local government elections.
