Aboriginal electors

Our Aboriginal Elector Information Strategy identifies key goals to assist Aboriginal electors, and particularly Aboriginal youth, to enrol, vote and participate fully in the democratic process. The Strategy also identifies practical achievable initiatives to be implemented at the 2008 Local council elections on Saturday 13 September 2008.

Working as an election official

At the 2008 Local council elections, the NSWEC will endeavour to employ a number of Aboriginal people to work as election officials, particularly at those polling places located in areas with large numbers of Aboriginal electors.

If you are interested in being a polling place manager or election assistant, you may phone 1300 135 736 to obtain an application form, or register your interest.
