2008 Local government elections
Local council elections will be held on Saturday 13 September 2008. It is compulsory for Australian citizens resident in NSW, 18 years of age or older to enrol and vote for representatives on their council. You must enrol by 6.00 pm on Monday 4 August to vote in this election. Check my enrolment and area/ward. To find out about your council, visit council information.
Parties must be registered to participate in local government elections. Applications to register a party for this election closed on 24 August 2007.
